I love recreating my favorite restaurant dishes at home so I was excited to get my hands on a copy of Stephanie Manley’s new book, CopyKat.com’s Dining Out at Home Cookbook 2, just released July 9th, 2013. If you haven’t tried some of her recipes, you are missing out on a treat. Her recipes are easy enough for the beginning cook and include dishes from all sorts of restaurants. There is everything from Fast Food, like Arby’s, McDonalds and Sonic, to casual dining, like Logan’s, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. I plan to make and share some more of her amazing dishes–can you say dessert???–during this month as well.
This Freeze from Taco Bell is so simple. There are only three ingredients in the drink! The quantity can be doubled or tripled if you want to serve friends, or kept as is if you just want a refreshing treat for yourself.
Taco Bell’s Pina Colada Frutista Freeze Copykat #Recipe
Recipe Type: Drinks
Cuisine: American
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 1
The Copykat version of Taco Bell’s Pina Colada Frutista Freeze from the new book, Copykat.com’s Dining Out at Home by Stephanie Manley. The recipe can be increased.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1/2 cup lemon lime soda (can use diet)
- 1/2 cup pina colada mix
- 1 lime slice
Instructions
- Add the ice, lemon lime soda and pina colada mix to a blender. Blend until the ice has been crushed. Pour into a glass and garnish with a lime slice.
I’m debating on what other recipes I want to include this month but I am a huge fan of Dairy Queen’s Ice Cream desserts so possibly the Turtlette Bar or Peanut Butter Parfait Bar. Is your mouth watering yet?
What are your favorite drinks to make to beat the summer heat? Have you tried a Frutista Freeze yet?

I normally don’t order pina colada drinks, but one day it was hot and I tried Taco Bell’s drink. I thought it was pretty darn good. I would love to copy the recipe.

YUM! I make their Limeade Refresher Copy Cat Recipe and it is so good. Our local Taco Bell got tore down and is being re-built so I haven’t had the luxury of trying this yet, so what better time then to make one myself :-)! Thanks for recipe!!
