Sorry in advance for the probably stupid post...
So I've wet my diaper tonight and I don't really want to change. I'm not sure what the capacity is but I know I'm unlikely to wet in my sleep. What kind of problems could arise from wearing a wet diaper? Do many people here wear wet diapers for prolonged periods? Are there any benefits to wearing a wet diaper to bed? All I know is right now it feels all warm and cosy...

Not a stupid post at all (there’s no such thing on adisc )
It really depends on how wet the nappy is in my opinion, it it’s soaked I’d change it but if it’s only slightly wet I don’t and wouldn’t. Modern abdl nappies wick the fluid away so well that I don’t see it as a problem overnight, especially if you don’t think that you’ll add to it. At the end of the day, it’s down to personal comfort, just do what makes you feel right, and if in the night you decide it’s to uncomfortable, take it off, clean yourself up and go back to sleep

If I wear a wet diaper all night, there is a good chance I will get a diaper rash. That might just be my skin though and the fact I wear real baby/kid diapers instead of ABDL diapers. Even as a kid though I think that was a problem for me as the smell of Destin instantly hit me when I first had to buy it, so your mileage may vary. I personally have to go to bed dry, and if I end up wetting after I go to bed, I often still end up with some irritation.

From my side of this tree (24/7, Incontinence, U-IC), I always change a daytime diaper for an over-night diaper as it is important to understand that our skin is very important and can be greatly effected by extended exposure to urine.
Diaper Rash is not enjoyable!

I've taken people's advice. I'm going to change into a fresh one <3 I decided to make the most of it before disposing of it by emptying my bladder before bed.

I've gone to bed in a partially wet nappy - and it was fine - if you've just peed, give it a while to soak in and solidify first would be my top tip. Come the morning you'll probably be wanting to change it anyway.

Norhing wrong with going to bed in a slightly wet diaper I usually shower before bedtime, end up wetting a bit before going to bed in the same diaper. I sleep very comfy, get good rest.

I'm not giving this as advice, just saying that I have stayed in a wet diaper for over 24 hours, and for me, I did not get diaper rash. I think I'm immune to diaper rash or something. I know others are very sensitive. I guess my point is that it just depends on an individual's skin sensitivity.

Going to bed in a wet diaper for me is really no different than staying in the same wet diaper for 8+ hours during the day, it would just depend on how wet it is when going to sleep. I wouldn't sleep in an already soaked diaper, but barely wet, sure. I've gone to bed numerous times in a dry diaper and end up getting it before drifting off to sleep and just stayed in it till the morning.

I do it all the time, although it's only one or maybe two little wetting at most, so it's nowhere near capacity. Haven't had any issues.

When wearing, I always go to sleep wet. Makes me feel more like a baby. This however is dependent on your skin sensitivity. You don’t want nappy rash. I read above that you’ve changed already but just my two pennies worth for the future.

I assume we are talking about a quality disposable brief with tabs in which case I agree that if it's not really used, then it can stay on overnight. It also depends how long you worn it but a little wet would suggest not to.long! If it's been all day as you used the toilet a clean up can be good every 8 to 12 hours.
If it's a Cloth diaper or pull up I would change as the absorption will be inferior.

There are a lot of factors that can change things. Like how sensitive your skin is, whether you use powder and/or barrier cream, how wet the diaper is, what type of diaper it is, and how hydrated you are etc.
But I've gone to bed in a wet diaper and have been in a wet diaper for a prolonged period of time many times without any issues. I generally just use powder and ABDL diapers.

I have had at least 3 and possibly more UTIs from staying in a wet diaper too long so you might want to consider that if you are prone to UTIs

Oof, I've had a UTI before (not from staying in a wet nappy though, from something else) and while my symptoms weren't the worst tbh, it was not fun.
Your post also made me realize it's probably worth mentioning, but female anatomy is much more prone to getting UTI's and potentially have issues from staying in a wet nappy for a prolonged period of time relative to male anatomy.

When I want to have a diapered night I always pee at least once before falling asleep, so I end up with a wet diaper on. But I also use a lot of baby powder inside every time and I've never had any problems with rash. There were some nights I drank too much water (in order to pee more) and my diaper got so soaked that it became uncomfortable (no need to tell about leaks and feeling wet on my thighs). But I always sleep on an absorbent pad, so no problems.

Almost always go to bed wet, but I mostly use InControl Premium Nights. They wick really well, and it takes quite a bit until they feel wet against my skin
Edited to add the rest of what I was gonna say

I do it all the time when I sleep in a diaper just for the fact that it keeps my little friend calmer being in a wet diaper then a dry softly powdered diaper.
