Optimize for Conferencing and Gaming, formerly known as Smart Queue Management (SQM), intelligently shapes how wifi traffic is queued to reduce latency and limit the amount of bandwidth certain devices use. For busy networks, this can improve the quality of voice, video calls, and online gaming.

Once you've set up device prioritization, eero will automatically allocate bandwidth to your high-priority devices first, ensuring they have the resources they need for optimal performance. This is particularly useful for devices like gaming consoles or work computers that require low latency and consistent bandwidth.

eero will not make your WiFi faster, as WiFi speed depends on what is provided by your ISP. However, eero can bring faster speeds to every corner of your space, increase your internet's efficiency and reduce network congestion.

Most routers will have a tab in their app/configuration page dedicated to traffic monitoring. Navigate to this and find the QoS tab. Turn QoS on, and then you can prioritize certain services, such as online games or video streaming. You can also prioritize devices on the network.

You can add as many eeros or eero Beacons to your home as you'd like! When figuring out the optimal number of eeros for your home, take your home's layout into consideration. This includes length, number of rooms, and any potential interference-inducing obstacles like brick walls, large appliance or metal doors.

To check your eero's connection quality, take the following steps: Open the eero app. Tap Online at the top of the screen. The signal strength of each eero will be displayed to the right of the name of each eero.
